Instagram. It is a social media where you can publish videos, pictures and boomerangs. Your profile can be private or public.  We  chose  this theme because a friend we know had experiences with Bullying and Pedofhiles. When she was twelve years old she had a public account, so everybody  could see her pictures, videos and boomerangs. One day someone texted her in direct message and said:’’ Hey, I am from a Model company. I saw your pictures and I thought you could be great model. Do you wanna meet somewhere like in the Bosques de Palermo to do a photo session, but don’t tell it to someone because it is a surprise to your parents and friends. It would be at nine pm. and plaese don't bring your cellphone because you can lose it in the woods.’’ She knew immediately it was weird so she told it to her parents. They told her to block him.
That is reason  we want  to share some tips to prevent this type of situation.
1) Have a private Instagram account
2) Make sure you're chatting with someone you know face to face
3) If someone tries to talk to you even tho you don't know him, block him
4) If something WEIRD IS happening tell an adult you trust
5)Don't  trust someone with a nice profile photo
6)If a person you dont know wants to follow you hace to block  him/her.

Online safety tips

There are a lot of cases of extortionist calls all over the world. Every day, extortionists and scammers call random people around the world saying that they have kidnapped e.g. his/her parent, or that he/she is going to be killed if he/she doesn't give them a big amount of money. There are a lot of stories, and most of them are not true! By the way, lots of people are called by an extortionist and still fall into their trap. That's the reason we want to give some tips, to avoid that kind of situations, and have more safety.

Tips:

If you receive a suspicious call, be careful. It might be an extortionist. You must be really careful with the things you say.

Here some things you should remember (if it is a kidnapping extortion):
  • Stay calm. if you’re being called from an extortionist, you must take it with calm. If not, you will give them information and that’s not the idea. Stay calm and think what you’re going to say.
  • Check if what they are saying is true. If you’re with someone, at the moment when they call you, make that he/she makes sure that e.g. your son, is ok.  If you are alone try to get information about it (with some questions, for example), but without telling them any data about you (or of someone).
Here is an image with some information about what to answer to some common question extortionist can make:

Extortion calls are really dangerous, because they can steal everything you have in a few minutes and with a few questions, without you noticing that they are doing it. There are different kinds of extortion calls. One of these, is really common. It is: kidnapping extortion. It’s when they tell you, that they have someone of your family/friends. You have to pay an amount of money to save him/her, and if you don’t do it, they will kill him/her.

Another kind of extortion call, is the “you won the lottery!” extortion. There, they call you and tell you that you won the lottery. They ask you some information about you, e.g. to transfer that money to your bank account. If you give them that data, you will lose all your money, and yes, you didn’t won the lottery. Another one, (and it’s really similar to the last kind of extortion) is when they call you, and ask you for example for update your data. LIke we said before, if you give them that information, you will fall on their trap, and that’s not the idea.

And the last one, (really similar to the first type of extortion) is when someone calls you and says that you’re being watched. There the “unknown” extortionist tries to get money from you, telling that if you don’t do it, you will be killed. For all this things, we made some tips, and created an image with some explanations, with things you may do if an extortionist calls you.

Here we leave you a real story, from a friend of us, who was called by an extortionist:
Ones a friend of us, who was 16, was in her holidays in the United States. She was called by an extortionist who said: ‘I have got your daughter, if you want her to stay alive you must bring $5.000 to the Central Park. Leave the bag with the money on the Bow Bridge at 4:00 a.m. and leave.’ To this our friend answered: ‘OK, wait a sec’, I’ll tell my mum’. After this she finished the call.

Here is a video that explains how to block calls:

"Tools learned during first term: Online safety tips"

The social networks are internet platforms that millions of people use to upload photos, create communities on common interests (work, reading, games, friendship, etc), interact with friends and even make new friends or work contacts.
Unfortunately, they are more dangerous than ever. There are men who talk to underaged kids trying  to harm them, physically and/or mentally. Other dangers are hackers and virus. Nor should we forget the thieves, whom we can help if we are not careful about what we post.

In this blog we will show you some safety tips for social networks. Is very important for you to follow all our tips, because the social networks (like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Snapchat or inclusive Whatsapp) can be very dangerous if you don’t take care.
You must to be very careful with what you make publish on the web and follow all the tips to don’t be in danger.
 Here are the tips:

  • Use a secure password and don’t tell it anyone.  For the password you can mix letters with numbers and you can write it with capital letters.
  • Don’t  accept strangers on your account. Share your information only with those you know. Don’t talk to strangers or tell them about your private life.
  • If your account gets hacked you should let your friends know  because the hacker could be talking to them.
  • Be careful when using a shared computer. Log out when you're finished using it and don’t let the browser remember the password.
  • If you can, put your account in private mode. In this way, people that don't follows you, don't have access to your information.
  • Be careful with the content that you publish. Phrases like, "Shoping in Miami" tell thieves that your house is empty and that it's the perfect time to steal.
  • Don’t trust that someone is really who says it is. Hackers are specialists in posing as a friend.
  • Use an alternate email for everything that has to do with service and account notifications, since in case your account is attacked, only those notifications will be accessed, and your personal account will remain safe and hidden.
  • Not to divulge intimate or very important information with a social network, since an error could occur in the service and the same be available for all. The best thing that you can do if you have to communicate something personal is to do it through a more direct method like the phone.
  • Don't be afraid to report someone that you don't know and talks to you.

It is common that, especially young people and children, trust that all people in social networks are who they say they are. Sometimes, for parents is obvious what must not to be done in social networks, and trust that their children will not do it, although there are constantly reported cases of boys and girls who fell silent in the traps of malicious people.

In this video we can see that many parents believe that their children don't do anything wrong, but because they did not control their children, they could have done a lot of damage. That is why it is very important to talk about it in homes and schools. So it's important to talk to trusted people about how to use social media correctly.
If you follow all the tips and take care, you'll never be in danger situations. So, what are you waiting for check that your account is totally sure?

How to use iframes in your post?

What is an Iframe? An Iframe is like a "Window" in another platform, there you can embed everything you want, for example a video. What an Iframe makes, is that the people (who´s watching the video) don´t need to go to another platform to see it, they can stay at there.

Now  I am going to explain you, how to insert a video using Iframes:
The first thing that you must do is access to YouTube and search the video that you want to show on your post. Then you must click on the "Share" button, it is under the video clip.

When you click on this button, there will appear three options: "Share", "Embed" and "Email". You have to click on Embed. It will appear an "Iframe Code" that works for an Iframe and you must copy it.

Finally you have to go to Blogger and create a new post. You must click on the HTML button, which is next to the Composer button. It would appear a long text, but it is not very important. Go to the end of that long text and paste the code.

When you click on the Compose button again, the video will appear in form of Iframe.

How do you use Iframes in your posts?

Steps to insert an iframe from a video in a post:

 1. Fetch the video you want to insert in your post.

 2. Click on share.

 3. Then click on embed.
 4. Copy the iframe code.
 5. Go to the post and click on the option HTML.
 6. Paste the iframe code there.
 7. Go back to write and the video will already be there, just like this:

How to use Iframes in a Post

The first thing that you have to do is go to Youtoube.
Next, you are going to choose a video that you want to show in your post.
For example, I am going to use the song "Roar" from Katy Perry.

When you select the video, you are going to click the button "Share". It is under the subscription button of the Youtube Channel.

Now, three new options will appear. You have to click in "Embed". It is located in the middle of that three options.

An "Iframe code" is going to appear. For you to know, the violet marked square contains the "Iframe code".
The next thing you have to do, is to copy that code.
You are going back to your post, and click on the "HTML" button. (It is next to the "Compose" button, on the left side of the toolbar.)
If you click there, a large text (it is better to call that text "codes") is going to appear. Well, if you did not write to much in your post, before putting the Iframe, it is not going to be large.
Now, you have to paste the "Iframe code" at the bottom of the "HTML" section. (Specifically, where there is a free space).
Now go back to the "Compose" section, and (if you did it right) a video is going to appear there.

And that's how you use Iframes in a post.
